What is Delta-8?
Delta-8 tetrahydrocannabinol, or delta-8 THC, is a cannabinoid found in the cannabis Sativa plant. Similar to delta-9 THC—which is what most people are familiar with as just THC— it has psychoactive qualities that produce a “high.” Although, delta-8 THC is known for giving users the benefits of THC with none of the negative side effects that delta-9 THC is known for (anxiety, paranoia, etc.).
Delta-8 is typically synthesized from cannabidiol (CBD) extracted from hemp using a solvent. there is little to no regulation of delta-8 products on the market. Individuals could unknowingly consume a low-quality product and suffer adverse effects as a result. Always ensure that you are consuming high-quality, vetted products.
Does Delta-8 Show Up in Drug Test?
In short, yes. Delta-8 THC will show up on a drug test because there could potentially be trace amounts of delta-9 THC present. At the end of the day, you are consuming a cannabis product even if it is federally legal it will still show up on a test.
Is Delta-8 Legal in my State?
Currently, delta-8 THC is legal in 30 states and the District of Columbia. It is regulated similarly to delta-9 THC in two states—Connecticut and Michigan. As Vance Global CEO and co-founder August Battles explained in this interview, the regulatory market is like a game of whack-a-mole for cannabinoids across the country.
What Conditions Can Delta-8 THC Help With?
Current research has found that delta-8 THC may help with several conditions such as nausea and vomiting, appetite stimulation, and potentially can help reduce anxiety and relieve pain although further research is needed for the latter two conditions.
Delta-8 THC has not been approved by the Food and Drug Administration for medical or therapeutic use. However, as more states legalize cannabis, more research is being conducted on various cannabinoids and their potential for therapeutic use.
3 Women Use and Review Delta-8 THC Products
We asked three women who regularly consume cannabis to try out Vance Global’s delta-8 THC cigarettes and delta-8 edible gummies — which can each be purchased by the pack or by the carton for the economical consumer — and tell about their experience.
The Ladies Strike up a Vance Global Delta-8 THC Cig
Raquel: The Athlete
I loved that the VG delta-8 cigarettes were pre-rolled and easy to smoke without the effort of grinding up dry herb, rolling, getting my finger and nails sticky, etc. The ease of access really appealed to me.
I typically use this product toward the end of the workday. Sometimes I smoke them before working out as well because I feel that it produces a more mellow body high. It does not interfere with my ability to work and function normally which makes them great for almost any activity.
In my opinion, the Vance Global delta-8 THC cigarettes are very mellow compared to other delta-8 THC products. This is because they contain 100mg of CBD per cigarette to balance effects.
Olivia: The Gamer
I enjoyed using the Vance delta-8 cigarettes. I will admit I was a bit hesitant at first to use delta-8 products – despite using delta-9 THC products regularly – simply because I didn’t know much about them. They tasted a bit like an herbal cigarette and didn’t have the strong weed flavor usually present in a joint or spliff.
The packaging was clean, attractive, and eye-catching. I found it unique and a smart way to market these cigarette-style smokables. It’s a bright green with black and white lettering, which reminded me strongly of a pack of cigarettes, and yet I felt none of the guilt of opening it and lighting one up. I quit using tobacco products several years ago, and I will say I enjoyed the cigarette feel of these delta-8 cigs.
I’ve never had a cannabis product quite like this. The effects were mild, but if you smoke an entire delta-8 cigarette you definitely feel the psychoactive effects of the THC. I smoked them while gaming. I felt the positive effects of the THC but was able to remain alert and concentrate on the game.
Marissa: The Problem-Solver
First off, I appreciate greatly the inclusion of a QR code on the packaging — which, by the way, is small and can fit in my tiny lady pockets. When you scan the code it takes you to certified lab testing results for the product, which is all I could ask for as a health-conscious consumer.
The cigarettes themselves are oozing cool and visually reminiscent of the clove cigarettes I eyed enviously as a millennial youth. I haven’t smoked a tobacco cigarette in about eight years but found the taste to be evocative of extremely mild tobacco. I have to think for the open-minded smoker seeking to give up nicotine, these delta-8 cigs would be an excellent alternative.
I smoked only a quarter before clipping out the rest to save for later. The effects were immediate and pretty cerebral — I applied myself to editing and organizational tasks for the coming hour or so with no rapid comedown, consequential headache, or fatigue
The Gals Chew on a Few VG Delta-8 THC Gummies
Raquel: The Athlete
I took a quarter piece of the VG delta-8 edible before a two-hour workout class. The effects of the edible kicked in approximately one hour from consumption and the peak of the effects happened one hour later. Overall the effects lasted for a total of three hours. The edible gave a pleasant body high, and it didn’t make me anxious or paranoid.
Although I noticed I was a bit slower when learning new skills during the workout class, I was able to push myself harder, I felt less hyper-focused and self-conscious about how I looked, as well as calmer and more relaxed. These effects allowed me to get out of my head and be more present in my body.

I took half a piece of the Vance Global delta-8 gummy in the early afternoon. It took about an hour to set in. What I noticed first was the appetite-stimulating effects when my stomach growled at me, but it was also lunchtime. Sometimes I forget to eat, so this was a great reminder that I needed to break and take lunch.
It felt very much of a full-body high with a pleasant buzzy rushing sensation in the head. The effects peaked around two hours, but at three I was feeling more tired and ready to watch a show instead of focusing. The effects lasted around 4 hours in total with residual effects perhaps lasting a bit longer. I found that they were great to game on and relax. I loved the product.
Marissa: The Problem-Solver
I haven’t always had the best experiences consuming edibles. Correspondingly, I gave myself a Saturday without obligations to carefully cut out only a quarter of a Vance gummy to eat. About an hour later, I took to teaching my fiance the menial bits of knowledge I have about making bread (I know I’m a bit behind the pandemic sourdough trend trajectory), and I spent time showing him how to knead our next batch, turning warm water and flour into a smooth ball over 10 minutes. We played games in between rising and shaping the dough over the next few hours, and I found my spirit light and head clear. The effects were mildly euphoric, and this product has made me rethink my relationship with edibles moving forward.
